Call the police! Your speech is “hurtful”!

Students at the University of Missouri were faced with a bizarre and unusual task Tuesday morning: Turn in your fellow classmates to the cops if you hear them saying anything “hurtful.”

Students and faculty at the University of Missouri are being asked to contact the police upon witnessing incidences of “hateful and/or hurtful speech,” according to Campus Reform, which obtained a copy of the request via a student who wished to remain anonymous.

Issued by the University of Missouri Police Department (MUPD), the notice was emailed to students at 10:00 a.m. this morning, asking them to immediately report occurrences of hateful and or harmful speech so that disciplinary action can be taken by the MU’s Office of Student Conduct.

In the notice, authorities warn students to avoid posting information to social media, arguing that such behavior often reduces “the chances of identifying responsible parties.”

MUPD asks that, when reporting incidences of hateful or harmful speech, students gather all possible information about the individual or any parties involved, including snapping a cell phone picture of the perpetrator(s) “if it can be done safely.”

Campus Reform was able to get in touch with Major Brian Weimer of the MUPD, who admitted that “he is not aware of any specific incidents having been reported yet, but pointed out that the email had only just gone out at about 10:00 a.m. Central.”

“We just want to make sure everything is dealt with properly,” said Weimer. “In order for us to take action, we need to have a report of it, not just get it out on social media.”

This latest development in PC policing comes just one day after the University of Missouri’s Melissa A. Click, a media communications assistant professor, led “protesters” in physically intimidating journalists as they attempted to exercise their First Amendment rights and document the event occurring on public property. Please feel free to share the following infographic demonstrating the hypocritical insanity behind the liberal push for selective “tolerance” as exemplified by the recent events at Mizzou:
