InfoWars abandons gun-right activists, interviews dildo wavers instead

The self-proclaimed defender of gun-rights was a “no-show” at two important events designed to highlight the dangers of “gun-free” zones, as well as the utility of open carry. Alex Jones, founder of InfoWars.com, disappointed Second Amendment supporters when he failed to send correspondents to cover the open-carry march near the University of Texas campus and the mock mass shooting staged later that day.(1)

Two Texas gun rights groups, Don’t Comply and Come and Take It Texas, organized the Dec. 12 event in Austin, Texas, in an effort to pressure politicians into ending “gun-free” zones in the Lone Star State.

Their efforts were hugely successful, as they were able to attract an international media frenzy, spurring a healthy, and long overdue, debate regarding the ineffectiveness of “gun-free” zones in the U.S. – which serve as opportune targets for mass shootings every single time.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2016, Texas will institute a new open-carry law, authorizing individuals with their concealed handgun licenses to openly carry a handgun anywhere CHL holders are allowed. In Aug. of next year, CHL holders will be permitted to open carry inside UT classrooms and other campus buildings, whereas before, they were only authorized to open carry on campus.

InfoWars undermines Second Amendment

A media entity that prides itself in being a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment, InfoWars exhaustively covered the effort to pass open carry, yet, Jones decided Saturday’s event wasn’t worth attending, instead sending only one, very late reporter, Miss Lee Ann McAdoo.

McAdoo graced us with her presence only after the gun-rights activists had dissipated following the completion of their mock shooting and open carry march, leaving no one left to interview but the student protesters, who waved brightly colored dildos in her face while making fart sounds.

Though the protesters made a complete spectacle of themselves, they were the primary individuals featured in McAdoo’s coverage.

Jones’ declination to support the open-carry march near the UT campus and the mass mock shooting likely stems from his unwillingness to bring attention to what he perceives is his competition – TalkNetwork, a brand new independent alternative media platform featuring more than 30 liberty-focused radio shows.

Launched by Natural News Mike Adams, the radio network includes a podcast by one of the mock shooting’s organizers – Don’t Comply – called The Don’t Comply Show, which airs Monday and Thursday 4–6 p.m. CT.

Alex Jones reporters side with dildo-waving protesters

While ignoring the event’s organizers, InfoWars served as a platform for so-called “gun-rights activist” Michael Cargill, who took the opportunity to bash his fellow Second Amendment supporters, calling their efforts “counterproductive.”

Cargill even lied to the media when he said the event’s organizers had done nothing to support the passing of campus carry, when in truth, it was the open-carry movement – propelled by Come and Take It Texas – that contributed to the passing of campus carry.

“The open carry law was fueled by Come and Take It Texas, and not only them, but the thousands of gun-rights supporters who rose up and walked the streets in support of the cause,” said Matthew Short, the Public Relations Director for Don’t Comply.

Infowars’ refusal to properly cover the event completely “undermines the Second Amendment,” Short said. “I just couldn’t believe they took the side of the dildo-wavers and farters.”

Time to fight back

There have been reports that Jones has threatened to ban TalkNetwork guests from appearing on his show, mirroring the Clintonian tactics demonstrated by Bill and Hillary Clinton – who are infamous for attempting to control all media coverage of them, carefully selecting whom they provide interviews to.

Similar to the Clintons, Jones loathes the idea of losing a monopoly on media narratives.

“Alex is very territorial and likes to have a monopoly on guests,” said Dean Ryan, the Executive Producer of TalkNetwork, who has worked with Jones in the past.

“He doesn’t want to give any credence to Mike Adams being back in the radio industry, and is covertly trying to take him down.”

Unlike InfoWars, which abandons its principles over melodrama, TalkNetwork has “integrity and are the true champions of free speech,” says Ryan.

“I think there is a public hunger for unfiltered info. It’s truly organic and the only ones doing that is TalkNetwork.”
