The entrenched establishment is demonizing those who hold views on immigration similar to the way President-elect Donald Trump does. The Southern Poverty Law Center has teamed up with the media to silence critics of refugee resettlements across the country. What tactics are they using? They can portray the critics as racist, Islamophobic, anti-Muslim, and so on. This, in their eyes, will negate the “opinions” of bad people. However, simply providing fact-based research on the US government’s refugee resettlement program does not make one a bad person.
Here’s the problem, the SPLC has provided a definition for hate groups as “those that vilify entire groups of people based on immutable characteristics such as race or ethnicity.” The media routinely cites the SPLC’s hate group designations as if they were fact, but many organizations on the list have been controversially categorized. The SPLC is left leaning and their distinctions are illegitimate in some instances. Is it wrong that White Lives Matter is on the hate group list, but Black Lives Matter isn’t? Very.
SPLC is the same organization that tried to label former GOP presidential hopeful Dr. Ben Carson as an extremist. They later had to backtrack and apologize after nationwide backlash in 2015. There is still Carson negativity on file with the SPLC citing that he has said some things that “most people would conclude are extreme.” So what did he say that was so bad? It was his belief that marriage is between a man and a woman that has him on the ringer.
The newest media-made controversy in Michigan stemmed from a 2015 book titled “The Red-Green Axis: Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America.” Author James Simpson appeared in negative stories by the Detroit Free Press and the Detroit Metro Times. The SPLC was used as a source in the Simpson bashing because his book exposes both secular and church groups for working as paid government resettlement contractors, who provide data on the costs of the resettlement program. Over the last 20 years, the Michigan area has received over 7,000 Muslim refugees from various countries. The Islamization is so intense that local opponents are referring to their cities with names like Dearbornistan and Shariahville.
Those who speak the truth on the right are increasingly ostracized, demonized, and marginalized. Anyone who has facts to dispute the talking points of the government and its resettlement contractors is immediately branded as a racist. Simpson has referred to the refugee resettlement program as a scam that hides under the guise of humanitarian goodness, when it’s about making money and changing the political demographics in favor of Democrats and socialists.
