Why do the liberals have to ruin everything that is fun and innocent? From a student group at Yale University insisting that an all-male fraternity must allow women in so as to create “a more inclusive social environment,” to school administrators banning certain Halloween costumes in the name of political correctness, to Michelle Obama’s war on cupcakes and chocolate bars, the left always seems to be there to turn what would be fun and enjoyable into something that is bland, dry and boring.
Take for example the hit children’s show Sesame Street. It has been on the air for decades now, allowing multiple generations to grow up having fun and learning with a cast of playful, vibrant puppets dancing around on their television sets. It has always been a sweet and innocent show – that is, until the liberals started using it to advance their agenda.
As it turns out, the Sesame Street icon Elmo seems to be opposed to President Trump’s temporary travel ban on immigrants coming from six countries known for terrorism and Islamic extremism. Appearing on a CNN panel alongside International Rescue Committee Chairman David Miliband and Sesame Workshop’s Executive Vice President of Global Impact Sherrie Westin, the big-nosed puppet was asked by host Clarissa Ward, “Did you find that the Syrian little girls and little boys were a lot like your friends here in America?” Elmo replied, “Yeah they really were. It was very interesting because they like to play and learn just like Elmo and all of his friends at Sesame Street.”
Elmo goes on to say, “Elmo thinks it’s important to know that everybody is the same deep down and that’s very important,” adding, “It was really sad because Elmo’s new friends told Elmo that they had to leave their homes because it wasn’t safe for them to stay. And that made Elmo really sad and sometimes a bit scared.”
Apparently, CNN thinks their viewers are between the ages of two and five.
It’s hard to believe we’re saying this yet again, but it appears CNN has reached yet another new low. It’s incredible – just when you think this network can’t sink any lower, can’t embarrass themselves any more than they already have, and can’t look any more like an appendage of the Democrat party, they do all of the above.
How convenient it is that CNN, which really has turned into nothing more than a fake news network, left out the fact that President Trump’s travel ban is only temporary, not permanent. Elmo forgot to mention that all of his “friends” in Syria will eventually be able to join him on Sesame Street as soon as the United States implements an effective vetting process for immigrants coming into this country.
It’s also convenient how no one on this CNN panel brought up the issue of national security, which is the whole reason why President Trump and his administration are against the importation of refugees into the United States. The Islamic State has already been caught disguising themselves as refugees and sneaking into certain European countries, and it would be extremely naïve to think that they wouldn’t use the same strategy to get into America. Of course, once they are successfully on U.S. soil, the refugee mask comes off and the religious extremism comes out, potentially resulting in the death of dozens, hundreds or even thousands of innocent people.
CNN really should be embarrassed, not only for bringing Elmo on to help them advance their left wing agenda, but for being intellectually dishonest to the American people. President Trump said a few months back that the mainstream media is the enemy of the people, and this is proof that those words were and continue to be one hundred percent true.
