We keep hoping that freshman “Democratic Socialist” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York learns a couple of lessons now that she’s a member of Congress and, ostensibly, one of our country’s leaders.
One, we’d like her to learn that words and actions matter. People are defined by what they say and what they do; more to the point, people — leaders — are expected to do what they say and say what they’ll do.
Two, we’d love it if she would stop believing her adoring Left-wing press and step away from the cameras and reporters long enough to learn what the word “hypocrisy” means and why she’s neck-deep in it so often.
Her latest teachable moment came this week.
In recent days, Ocasio-Cortez made headlines among the conservative press for raging against cattle flatulence in another discussion about her proposed “Green New Deal,” a Left-wing government-centric disaster to move the country away from all forms of “fossil” fuels for energy production within a decade.
As The Hill reported, the New York freshman lawmaker addressed a document put out by her office that linked “farting cows” to climate change, adding that Congress must get serious about climate policy as it pertains to American agriculture.
“We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero, emissions in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast,” the document said.
The Hill noted:
Ocasio-Cortez didn’t directly defend the statement in an interview that aired late Thursday on Showtime’s “Desus & Mero,” but said that climate policy might need to look into reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture.
“In the deal, what we talk about is … that we need to take a look at factory farming, period. It’s wild,” she told the hosts on the premiere of their show.
“And so, it’s not to say you get rid of agriculture. It’s not to say we’re going to force everybody to go vegan or anything crazy like that. But it’s to say, listen, we’ve got to address factory farming. Maybe we shouldn’t be eating a hamburger for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Like, let’s keep it real,” she added. “We have to look at everything.”
Like, sure we do. And that includes looking at, and scrutinizing, lawmakers who say what they’ll do but who don’t do what they say. (Related: Ocasio-Cortez has no idea the Berlin Wall was built to keep people IN, not out… because everybody wants to flee socialism.)
Less than a week after Ocasio-Cortez made these comments, she was spotted at a restaurant in Washington with her chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, who was scarfing down a…hamburger (or cheeseburger…whichever).

It’s not clear what Ocasio-Cortez is eating, but if it contains any dairy products at all (like cheese, butter, etc.), then we’ve got a cattle farting problem here.
Rather than own up to her own comments and her own hypocrisy, Ocasio-Cortez instead reverted to her standard fall-back response of playing the victim, Infowars noted. She attacked the person who took the photo as being some sort of creeper.
“Tonight a dude was creepily (and obviously) taking a picture of me while pretending he wasn’t and I had to break his imaginary fourth wall and say “Hi! I’m a person! This is weird!” she tweeted.

Ocasio-Cortez also engaged in another childish response to a tweet from One America News Network’s Joe Posobiec who was essentially poking fun at the fact that someone had taken pictures of her eating with her chief of staff and posted them online.
When you’re a guy that’s so unaware of his own creepiness that you tweet this from your own account as if it’s normal and not stalkerish at all 👍🏽 https://t.co/XMMLp550At

This kind of behavior is disturbing, to say the least. Whether we like it or not, Ocasio-Cortez a U.S. representative; is it too much to ask that she at least act like one?
