A trans woman — that is, a person born biologically male who has now ‘transitioned’ to become a woman — is pushing back on a claim made in court documents that the man who shot and killed several people at a gay and lesbian bar in Colorado Springs, Colo., earlier this month is “non-binary.”
“I think that it’s completely ludicrous,” said CNN guest Natalee Bingham, who identifies as a trans woman but continued to use the accused shooter’s “they/them” pronouns throughout the segment.
Bingham was referencing Anderson Lee Aldrich, who is charged with murdering five people and wounding nearly two dozen others at Club Q. Since the shooting, Aldrich’s attorneys filed documents in court stating that their client wanted to be referred to as “non-binary” using “they/them” pronouns, The Post Millennial reported. The documents also say Aldrich wants to be referred to by the prefix “Mx.” instead of “Mr.”
“The attorneys for the shooter are now saying that the shooter is non-binary, and the shooter would like to use the pronouns ‘they/them’ for the court and all court papers, and that’s what Anderson Aldrich’s attorneys are saying. Do you have any thoughts on that?” asked CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota.
“I think that it’s completely ludicrous,” said CNN guest Natalee Bingham, who identifies as a trans woman. “I believe they’re just saying that because they want to have the easy way out on this. That’s really, really offending, especially being a transgender woman myself, that a male, which it was obvious with the mugshot, that’s a man.”
“That’s not a non-binary person because in no way, shape, or form could they appear as a woman the next day. It’s really offensive to really hear that, that they’re playing that role. If they’re non-binary, why would you go after the club where you feel safe?” Bingham asked while continuing to use Aldrich’s stated preferred pronouns.
“Why would you do that to a community where you are welcomed in if you are non-binary?” Bingham concluded.
WATCH:
According to Merriam-Webster, ‘non-binary’ is defined as “relating to or being a person who identifies with or expresses a gender identity that is neither entirely male nor entirely female.”
It should be noted that regardless of how a person ‘feels’, there are not 100 genders like left-wing culture destroyers claim, there are only two: Male and female. And ‘identifying’ as one does not change the other.
The Post Millennial added:
Aldrich allegedly opened fire with a semiautomatic rifle inside the nightclub in Colorado Springs, killing five people and injuring 17 before being subdued by patrons, including a former US Army vet, and arrested by police, who arrived within minutes.
Richard M. Fierro, a veteran of the US Army, was with his family at the club when the shooting began. He describes how his instincts kicked in and, without even thinking, he intervened. He was able to take down and subdue the shooter until police arrived.
“We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack,” the nightclub posted on its Facebook page.
In an interview with the outlet as his wife and daughter continued to recover from injuries received during the incident, Fierro, 45, who left the service in 2013 with the rank of major, his military records indicate, talked about how he instinctively got up off the floor after initially taking cover before locating the gunman, tackling him, and then beating him nearly unconscious with the gunman’s own handgun.
“I don’t know exactly what I did, I just went into combat mode,” Fierro said, shaking his head. “I just know I have to kill this guy before he kills us.”
