In the latest Biden administration gaffe, Vice President Kamala Harris raised eyebrows when she said that reducing the population was a way of improving our air and drinking water quality in a speech in Baltimore.
Speaking at Coppin State University about the Inflation Reduction Act, she began: “When President [Joe] Biden and I took office, we set an ambitious goal … to cut our greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 and to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.”
She added: “When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water.”
Although her office said that she misspoke and meant to say “pollution” rather than “population,” it is concerning that she thought nothing of saying these words in front of the crowd. She did not attempt to correct her “mistake” during the speech.
An official transcript of the speech from the White House shows the word “population” crossed out and replaced by “pollution,” implying that she intended to say the latter.
She was immediately criticized for expressing the sentiment on social media, with Representative Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky) asking his Twitter followers: “Are you the population she wants to reduce?”
Meanwhile, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Georgia) sought clarification, tweeting: “‘Reduce population’ @VP what do you mean by reduce population? Abortion? Assisted suicide? Or what means are you suggesting to reduce population in order to help public health?”
Senator Eric Schmitt (R-Missouri) said: “VP Kamala Harris says the quiet part out loud regarding her and other climate alarmists very anti human ideology and their desire to ‘reduce population.”
Elon Musk also weighed in, tweeting: “Reducing population is [nuts emoji]. We need to increase population.”
Harris is regularly given even lower approval ratings than President Biden, and it is expected that she will face even greater scrutiny as the next election approaches given Biden’s advancing age and rapid cognitive decline.
She also drew criticism for her bizarre explanation of what culture is at the Essence Festival in New Orleans recently.
“Culture is – it is a reflection of our moment and our time. Right? And present culture is the way we express how we’re feeling about the moment, and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment,” she rambled.
“That is a reflection of joy. Because, you know, it comes in the morning.” she added, laughing.
She made similarly perplexing remarks when trying to explain what AI is while speaking to civil rights and labor union leaders this week, and some White House officials are reportedly worried that she is becoming a “drag on the ticket,” according to Axios.
Overpopulation has long been cited by the global elite as a problem that needs to be addressed to save the environment. For example, CNN founder Ted Turner is a longtime advocate of population control and has gone on the record as saying that having too many people is the cause of global warming, while the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, famously said: “All of our problems are the result of overbreeding among the working class.”
Bill Gates has been extremely vocal about his belief that reducing the human population will help the environment. He stated: “The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s heading up to about nine billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care and reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.”
